I finally found a use for my smallest size scraps (anyone else keep those tiny pieces that aren't big enough for anything else?). Put together with linen, offcuts of batting (thanks sponky) soft tulle & gold thread skirt thrifted years ago by my nanna, they make beautiful coasters.
Gave them to an inspiring friend at work today and she loved them. I knew she would.
